Think Project Runway meets America’s Next Top Model! In this exciting camp, girls will learn about the history of fashion, famous designers and the design process from designer’s inspiration through the entire creative and production process. Girls will create their own fashion “House,” including a name, logo, and
clothing lines that appeal to a defined target market. Ideas are
illustrated in a storyboard format using sketches, fabric, color
and pattern. Campers will take on the role of the model and
creative directors as they plan their very own photo shoots with
the help of camp staff. Use of photoshop in advertisements
will be discussed in terms of perception vs. reality (no, models
are not perfect!). Each girl will leave camp with a self-defined
style (documented in a “personal style book”) as we take a
look at wardrobe planning, body types and personal care. The
“Make It Work” challenge is always a favorite; girls use various
thrift store items to come up with a cohesive look. Campers
last day will include a modeling smart phone app with their
favorite personal images! Girls will not only have a great time
with new friends, but will leave with an increased confidence
in their own personal style.
Cost: $435 includes all materials to create a fashion
house style board and style book, as well as prints from
daily personal photo shoots. After Care until 5pm is
available at $100 per week.
